Attention MN Producers: MAPA EPD Grant Program and Oct 28th Webinar

Emerald EcoLabel Software ProgramJoin us for a webinar in partnership with ERG Consulting on EPDs and the Emerald EcoLabel software program on Tuesday, October 28th @9am- 10:30am. This webinar will include a Q&A, so have your questions ready!

If you don't have the Emerald Eco Label software, please apply for your free 5-year license from the MAPA EPD Grant Program. Rebates are also available for purchased products. See attached application form for either option.

WHY? MnDOT will require EPDs beginning in 2028 for all trunk highway jobs over 2 miles. MnDOT may require EPDs before this and have applied change orders to several projects this year.

Note: For the first round, companies are eligible to apply for funding for one plant.

Eligibility Requirements:

Project will be rated based on the following criteria:

  • Workmanship
  • Difficulty

Awards will be given at the 2025 Minnesota Asphalt Conference dinner. Your company will be given an award plaque and logo file to be used for promotional purposes.

MAPA 2025 ASPHALT PLANT ECOLOGICAL AWARD

The Ecological Commendation Award recognizes asphalt pavement production facilities that best demonstrate safe and responsible environmental practices. Facilities are judged on their design layout, clean operation, conducted tours for neighbors/local community groups/school groups and appearance.

Submissions deadline: Friday, November 14, 2025.

ERGERG is proud to be selected by the Minnesota Asphalt Pavement Association to provide technical assistance and training to asphalt paving contractors and mix producers in Minnesota to help them with their Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) development process.

This important project, funded by a grant from the State of MN, will help Minnesota’s asphalt paving industry prepare for upcoming Buy Clean requirements under state law, requiring EPDs in state procurement by 2028.

MINNESOTA TRUCK-WEIGHT EDUCATION TRAINING

Minnesota Truck-Weight Education Training

This training promotes voluntary compliance to reduce damage to public roads and highways from overweight vehicles. Its goal is to teach you how to haul the most legal weight without violating truck-weight laws.

You'll learn about road-weight regulations during various times of the year, including the winter load increase and spring load restrictions. Instructors will provide professional, easy-to-understand take-home materials to assist you with your own configurations and options.

NAPA WEBINAR
October 27 | 2PM ET

This webinar will present findings from NCHRP project 09-66, Mechanical Properties of Laboratory-Produced Recycled Plastic Modified Asphalt Binders and Mixtures. The study provided guidance on selecting post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, laboratory procedures for adding PCR plastics in asphalt mixtures via the dry process. Attendees will gain insight into the global issue of waste plastics, learn recommendations on the types of recycled plastics that can be used in asphalt paving mixtures, and discover ongoing field studies to assess the effects of recycled plastics on pavement performance.
