Wrong About Everything (WAE) is a weekly podcast bringing an irreverent and bipartisan look at Minnesota and national politics. Two Liberals and Two Conservatives debate the issues of the day with humor and vigor. The WAE podcast crew will join us to opine on the upcoming Minnesota legislative session.

The most pervasive problem in road construction today is workforce recruitment and retention. Let’s discuss what we can do from both the union and non-union side to find long-term solutions to this challenge. Hear from industry leaders like:

Jason Duininck, to share what Duininck, Inc. has done in their local high school on training and upcoming CDL program;

Jason George, Business Manager of the International Union of the Operating Engineers Local 49, to discuss expanded recruitment and training opportunities through the union;

Tim Barrett, Program Support for the Trade and Industrial Program at the Minnesota Department of Education to discuss the challenges and opportunities of expanding construction programs through public schools; and

Justin Rost, MN Helmets to Hardhats, which matches local veterans with construction trades.

Sponsorships, Hospitality Suites & Auction Booths

Opportunities are available for your company to be showcased as MAPA supporters. The benefits of sponsorship include acknowledgment on the event website, posted signage with your company’s logo at the Annual Meeting, and announcements in the registration packet & from the podium. Please email your logo to info@mnapa.org.

The hospitality suites will be available this year after the dinner for attendees to visit and socialize. Meeting attendees are given a Bingo Card as a way to encourage them to visit all of the Hospitality Suites and become eligible for a prize drawing. There is a per room participation fee in addition to hotel charges for sleeping rooms.  The DoubleTree Hotel may also charge a $75+ fee/per room for the removal/addition of furniture in your Hospitality Suite. Rooms will be assigned on a first received, first assigned basis.

Note: Participation Fees are in addition to the overnight room rates charged by the hotel.

New this year Vendor Booths

8 ft long tables will be available around the perimeter of the terrace room during the social hour and can stay up during the day Friday for breaks and lunch.

Silent auction items will be placed on and next to the vendor tables to encourage attendees to network with vendor booths.

Auction Item Donation

MAPA will be having a silent auction during the dinner on Thursday night. Email photos, information or a brief description to info@mnapa.org.  Proceeds will be used to support the promotion of plant produced asphalt materials technology and political support activities at the direction of the MAPA Board of Directors for our industry.
